You can take Biotin vitamins. Some people disagree that Biotin doesn't work for growth and only makes hair healthier but Biotin is necessary for cell growth which improves hair, nail and skin. About how much growth, that would depend on your deficiency (if any) of biotin in your body and how well the intake of Biotin is being absorbed. Remember that if your taking medications or OTC medications you need to wait at least 2 hours before taking the vitamin or it will not be absorbed.

Foods that contain biotin are: almonds, eggs, onions, cabbage, cucumber, cauliflower, goat's milk, cow's milk, raspberries, strawberries, halibut, oats, walnuts, liver, legume, soybeans, swiss chard, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and carrots.

I take Biotin tablets that carry 5000ug (5mg) from Nature's Bounty. They even sell them in capsules that are easier to swallow. Getting 5,000ug per day equals 1,667% of daily value so that's a LOT. I've been taking biotin for a couple of months and my hair grows pretty fast and healthy BUT not strong as I wanted so keep in mind that you will have to cut one inch of hair every two months if you want to keep the hair strong.

To be honest, I saw results by the second month and after that my hair grows one inch per month. Good Luck!Faster, healthier hair growth, Plz help D:?
Some oils stimulate blood flow to the scalp causing hair to grow faster, these oils are peppermint, rosemary, lavender, cedarwood, tea tree, neem (neem oil stinks but makes the hair look good... it can be used in a hot oil treatment and shampooed out), basil , and emu.

All except the emu must be diluted in a carrier oil, coconut is a favorite of many.

Cucumbers and carrots aide in hair growth and so do nuts and whole grains.

Good products to use are all natural shampoos and conditioners, Dr. Bronners is really good, all of his soaps are made from olive and coconut oils (castille soaps are really gentle and non-drying) and WEN (there is a cheaper version called Hair One)

I have waist length hair (after years of being shoulder length and shorter) and I use mainly natural products.
Coconut oil is amazing for hair growth. If you massage it into your scalp every night and wake up to wash it if your going out, not only do you feel more awake and on the ball due to the stimulation your giving your head, but you'll see a noticeable difference in the thickness, health, lustre and length of your hair in no time!
DON'T USE ANYTHING FROM A DRUGSTORE

Tail and Maine. it's expensive shampoo but it works they sell it at walmart
Yea you can buy shampoos which promote hair growth but to be honest the best way is just to let it grow naturally. Using products can damage and weaken your hair.
i use vitamin E. i cut the capsule open and rub onto my hands and message into just washed hair but not into the scalp. it will make your hair look greasy. your hair will feel a little sticky until it dries but then it will feel real soft. i use every other time i wash my hair. in about a month it will kick in and your hair will start to grow. mine grows almost three inches a month. never did before. you can also swallow the vit e but that takes longer to get into your system to start to work. plus a trim every 7 to 8 weeks to keep the dead ends off
Well, I know that you should tie your hair in a pony tail and make it tight. It will make the hair stretch and it will grow longer. Granteed.

I do that.

But thats for the hair. If you wanted something else, please state.
blaide your hair and it will grow really fast at least b4 u sleep
braid your hair during the night or if you needed to grow really fast you should get some hair extensions

How can I prevent further hair loss to damaged hair & promote healthy hair growth ?

I damaged my hair !

I permed my hair and approximately 2 weeks later I colored it. A week after coloring it my hair started falling out in big clumps, that's when I realized I mistakenly used a permanent coloring instead of a semi permanent/rinse. My hair has been continuously coming out in clumps leaving bald patches in different parts of my head. I became so frustrated that I shaved off all of my hair around the sides %26amp; back (Mr T look).

Now I would like to know what I can do/use to promote new healthy hair growth ?How can I prevent further hair loss to damaged hair %26amp; promote healthy hair growth ?
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

Now is the best time to visit a tricologist if you can afford it. If not, stick to the basics:

- eat healthily and include foods like liver and greens which are iron-enriching and excellent for healthy hair.

- take vitamins and iron tablets for healthy hair

- wash your hair twice a week and deep condition once a week.

- once your hair is washed and is clean, let it air dry naturally. No hair dryer, curling tong, rollers, straightners, gels, mousse, dye...nada!

Basically, treat it the way you would a new born babies head of hair. And all will be back to normal:)
i too am suffering from hair loss problem.i am mentioning the most useful process which i think might help you also

use onion juice on your scalp, apply it every three days

you can also use aloe vera.it also helps

Medications to Treat Baldness

Minoxidil containing medications are very effective in treating fungal infections on the scalp and thus help in preventing hair loss. (Check Site Below)

Shampoos to Treat Baldness

There are many varieties of hair loss shampoos available in the market that will not only help in reducing the effect of baldness or hair loss on the scalp but will also help in keeping the hair clean and healthy.

Sprays

Most of the hair loss sprays contain natural keratin fibers and will resemble the natural hair when sprayed onto the hair loss affected scalp areas.

Laser Hair Loss Treatment

This is a non surgical solution to many hair related problems like baldness, thinning of hairs and hair fall. Laser treatment boosts and revitalizes hair growth by stimulating the hair follicles and by repairing damaged scalp cells.Laser treatments are found to be the most effective way to reduce hair loss and satisfactory results can be achieved just after a single sitting.
so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks.(if your hair is really healthy then up the trims to about every 12 weeks, a trim is just a snip off the ends) if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the growth part of the e to kick in. the other benefits are instant. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins going on four months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap and also promotes hair regrowth and growth. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online.(puritans pride.com or vitadigest.com) five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. i now take my fingers and message my scalp about five times a week, along with the brushing thats a good way to do it without damaging your hair. apply two or three capsules of e to dry hair and message into scalp and hair really well, put damp towel in microwave for 1 min to get hot, then quickly wrap head, a dry towel can be placed over that to help hold in the heat, leave on for 15 min, shampoo well, makes an excellent hot oil treatment. good luck, AND some people will argue about regular trims, your hair does grow from the roots, yes, but if your hair is not trimmed at the bottom, the it splits, get dry and brittle not to mention thin looking from no trims at all and frizzy. then your hair starts to break off at the bottom and giving you the appearance that it never grows. so to make hair grow as fast as possible and keep it healthy, then trims are an essential part of hair care. look on a ruler and check out less then half an inch and if your salon does not know what that is then take a ruler with you, i have. as of five weeks ago adding beta carotene vitamins to my regimen. i found out that along with the biotin it is very very good in promoting hair growth. they were five bucks for a bottle of 100. got them at walmart. the biotin and e can also be purchased at walmart, and adding all this up is pretty cheap to get great hair. i just wish the shampoo was available in the stores, but not yet.

  • I malt a lot - anyone have any tips for strong healthy hair growth? My hair keeps falling out in the shower :(?

I always had thick hair as a child and in my early teenage years but ever since about 2-3 years ago, my hairs been falling out at alarming rates in the shower and if I attempt to brush it (I don't often having slight curls) and am always finding hair all over my carpet!

I've tried a few things - not washing so often, buying a silk pillow, getting it regularly trimmed, even going to the doctor to be prescribed iron and zinc tablets but none seem to make my hair stay healthy so it can grow!

I want it to be mid back length by the middle of next year in time for my 18th but it's been this length (a bit past shoulders) for ages!I malt a lot - anyone have any tips for strong healthy hair growth? My hair keeps falling out in the shower :(?
try hair oil; it really works! put it on at nite before bed and wake up and shampoo it off. usually coconut hair oil works the best but try others to suit ur hairI malt a lot - anyone have any tips for strong healthy hair growth? My hair keeps falling out in the shower :(?
if u look in your local super market they have shampoo that specializes in hair strenghening. prevents malting
It's good you don't brush it too much- the thing is, we shed 100-200 hairs daily, and because you don't brush, i suppose when you touch your head, a lot of hairs come out at once. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about- also, washing it less is also a good idea (I get a feeling people will give me thumbs down for this); but shampoos and conditioners in the shops are filled with harmful chemicals that aren't going to help your cause. What I would suggest is; once a week give your hair a hot oil treatment. Rub olive oil in your hair (massage it well, this will stimulate growth) and then wrap a steaming (not boiling) towel around your hair. Leave it for 1/2 hour to an hour, then wash the oil out with a bit of shampoo and conditioner. The second tip i would give you is; examine your diet. Are you eating healthy enough? This is often overlooked. Lastly, try not to tie your hair up too tight; give your scalp some breathing space. Pulling on your hair causes stress to the follicles. Hope this helps.

    Healthy Hair & Growth?

As a child i had really, really, really long healthy hair. But then i became a teenager and started dying and cutting my hair like a crazy person lol.

Now coming into adulthood, i'm trying to get back my healthy head of hair and grow it SUPER LONG! I started by cutting most of the damaged hair off back in May of this year, to a shoulder length. Since, it has grown to about my bra strap.

My hair is super curly and a bit on the dry side. Is there any advice (especially from people who have the super long manes) on growing long, healthy hair?

    Thanks...BrittzHealthy Hair %26amp; Growth?
Don't cut your hair every 6-8 weeks! You'll be cutting your growth away. Normally hair only grows an inch or a little more a month. Best bet would be to try to keep it up as much as possible (ie buns!) That way your ends are protected and les likely to split. You should buy a pair of hair scissors and dust your ends. What this means is you physically look thru the ends of your hair, if you see a split, nip it off!! Also, try to take a mulit vitamin and biotin... it helps with healthy hair growth. Use a warm oil treatement 2x a week with regular olive oil and try conditioner only washes ... meaning no shampoo, believe me, your hair will get clean. Ummm... what else?? Oh! lay off the heat, try to air dry as much as possible and no heating tools while your hair grows out.

The best thing you can do for your hair is to trim it every 6 to 8 weeks at least 1/4 of an inch. Condition daily and do oil treatments every 12 weeks. If you don't color or highlight it, it should grow out healthy. You could also brush it at night so it can stimulate your scalp and help it grow faster.
out of experience(had the same problem) I'd advise you to trow bergemot essence(comes in a tiny bottle, essence has a yellow color) into your conditioner that you use.for best result leave it on for 30min-60min. trust me it really works. if i don't use it, my hair shows it. i speeds up growth and protects your hair and gives the scalp moisture. you can get it from your nearest drug store.

just another tip try to refrain from using heat on your hair as much as you can.try to let your hair dry naturally, and to refrain from breakage don't comb your curly hair when its dry only when wet,if possible only with conditioner. rather use mouse than gel,gel tends to leave your hair dry which increases breakage.
hi Brittz to make ur hair grow longer n healthier stick on 2 a strict diet wid more iron(dates esp),greens, fruits.hav gooseberry which is the best source of vit.C tat prevents hairfall.N weekly once apply the paste of Hibiscus leaves n rinse off try using the shampoo wid egg proteins wid a conditioner tat suits ur hair type.gingelly oil gives the best texture so apply fifteen mins b4 ur head bath.....hope these tips help u grow a SUPER LONG HAIR...wishes Y
massage your scalp with wheatgerm oil.
If you really want to grow long healthy hair then you can trim a 1/2 in. every six weeks and do deep conditioners once a week and make sure you use professional products. Also, you can use a UV protectant on it everyday. It sounds like allot, but it depends on how dedicated you are to your cause.

What are some great shampoos and vitamins that promote healthy hair growth?

i started dying my hair over the summer and have dyed it 4 time since then and i think it has damaged my hair. what shampoos, conditioners, and vitamins would you recommend for healthy hair. or if theres any other types of treatments that would help. oh and foods that help.

and ive heard that a healthy scalp leads to healthy hair. ive always had some dandruff but lately its been worse. do you think stress could be causing the dandruff, leading to unhealthy hair.

i dont really think its the coloring cus ive been highlighting my hair for years and it hasnt effected my hair at all, but then again coloring colors the whole head.

idk what do you think? What are some great shampoos and vitamins that promote healthy hair growth?
For cheap brands, Garnier is your best shot for shampoo and conditioner. Also try chopping off a few inches of your hair, and avoid razoring or intricate layers... Aim for a choppy look with nice clean cuts so that your hair doesn't tangle or stretch.

Your scalp and your overall health is absolutely related to the appearance of your hair! Your body will produce natural oils and the skin around your scalp will perk up and give your hair bounce if you treat yourself right. Always drink lots of water and have lots of fruit and veggies, but that goes for everyone!

Remember, your hair is made of dead cells. Rinsing with cold water at the end of the shower can't ';close the pores'; of your hair because it's not alive like your skin. Products can help improve the look, because they leave something behind. Try to find hair treatments and masks that describe the improvements you want make at the pharmacy.

Just give your hair and yourself some TLC and a little time and it'll look better before you know it.What are some great shampoos and vitamins that promote healthy hair growth?
Colouring your hair does stress out your hair.

If you bleach it, it's taking the pigments out of your hair and stripping your hair big time.

Try going to a natural foods store and buying vitamins that contain loads of Vitamin B, Silica and Horsetail (and don't worry, horsetail is a botanical, not tails from horses).

As for the type of shampoo you should look at, go to a professional hair salon and ask them to recommend something.

I like Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum - this helps my hair a lot.

I also use a vitamin called Hair Skin and Nails.
get the organic ones from health stores
you may want to go to a salon and get a biosilk treatment or ask them to see what treatments they have to offer. and healthy scalps do lead to healthy hair! what ever you do don't use dove shampoo right now it makes your hair feel good but does not give vitamins it puts a coat over your hair and will future damage it. me personally would recommend MATRIX shampoo they make great shampoo and it really helps your hair! i worked in a salon and it works miracles!! hope this helps
